The Tegesta Award’s Artist
Born in Mora, Toledo, in 1960, Eladio de Mora began to focus his artistic talent in pen portraits until he discovered the matter and the possibilities that third dimension had to offer. At that moment he ceased to be Eladio de Mora and became dEmo, and began creating sculptures which try to capture attention to important issues, such as ecology. Vivid colors and large dimensions constitute two hallmarks of his works, which aims to cause people’s reflections in a kind and friendly way. As he likes to say, “My wildlife, that is, my teddy bears, my cats, my cows and my piggies, come to raise a call on the necessary environmental awareness, to advocate society to have a greater harmony with nature. Yes, they do so without an iota of tension, always with a smile “.
